The geolocation auto-switch feature helps to switch the currency automatically based upon the geolocation of a visitor.
XOOT detects the user's IP Address and shows the local native currency based on the location and there are two different ways to test it:
Install Opera Browser
The Opera browser has a built-in VPN (Virtual Private Network) which is not an advanced feature since you can only select one among the few locations, like Europe or America, not a specific country. Still, it will work on general testing.
If you don't have Opera Browser on your desktop, install it, enable the VPN feature and open your store. That's it!
VPN Chrome Extension
Hola VPN Chrome Extension can be used to run an auto-switch test; though you can use other VPNs too. Here are the complete steps to use the Hola VPN extension for testing:
Step 1: After adding the extension, click on Hola Icon and simply turn it ON. (take reference from below screenshot)
Step 2: Right-click anywhere on the webpage and a menu will be displayed. Here, tap on the “Inspect” or use the shortcut key- F12.
Step 3: After clicking Inspect, a new menu will pop up. From here, find and click on the “Network” tab. (take reference from below screenshot)
Step 4: Check the "Disable Cache" tab.
Step 5: Click on the Hola icon, and then click on the US VPN, UK or tap on the dropdown button to select another Country.
Step 6: Once you have selected a country for which you want to perform the test, wait until the page reloads.
Thus, in such simple steps, you can begin your geolocation currency conversion testing.
Ensure you don't have simultaneously multiple open tabs as cookies and local storage are shared between multiple windows.
